Just received a large marketing package in the mail for this movie which is hitting theaters on April 18th. Let me know if any of you want posters, hand-outs, or have any interest in promoting it as well. You can get free resources and share it with others by visiting http://www.getexpelled.com, and visit the official movie site at http://www.expelledthemovie.com.
EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed, is an upcoming feature film in which host Ben Stein (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) goes on a quest to expose the suppression by science’s anti-theist elite, and unveil new scientific facts that may suggest evidence of intelligent design in the universe.

The problem is that the premise is a lie. And there have not been any new “facts” about creationism in the last 20 years.
EXPELLED is based on a false premise. The film is merely an anti-science polemic which presents a theological point of view that actually denigrates the power of creation by expounding on a “God of the Gaps” proposition.
Any film that attempts to market itself through a stealth plan involving deception and eliminating press and public from previews is highly suspect. I hope theater chains take a pass on this nonsense from Ben Stein.
You wish the press and theater chains were doing what you described, but they’re not. People could say the same thing about darwinistic material on the market as well, but they don’t. All Ben is doing is asking for a level playing field. If you want it to be tipped in your direction it’s a bit obvious why that’s the case. Truth can stand up to anything, so why bother trying to prove creation to be false.
Your efforts are in vain – maybe do something about it and create your own film or material? These are the comments I was planning on seeing. Keep arguing until you are blue in the face or go protest at your local theater. Not going to do you much good posting comments to persuade people like myself.
“Not going to do you much good posting comments to persuade people like myself.”
Don’t try to confuse you with “evidence” – your mind is made up.
It sounds like your mind is made up. I agree with Gabe, schools are for education and there are two beliefs (that’s all evolution is – a theory) that children should be educated on – creation and evolution. I have been educated on both and there is more “evidence” for creation than evolution. You actually have to have more faith in evolution than creation. And before you discount my comments – I am a 25 year veteran of the engineering fields.
I just found out about this movie (I’ve been busy ok?) but I have noticed onein6billion has made blogging against this movie his/her religion and is quite the zealot. Kinda funny being a zealot and making fun of others claiming they are zealots, especially when onein6billion has a God named Darwin.
“I am a 25 year veteran of the engineering fields.”
LOL And obviously quite a revered authority in the biological sciences.
“has a God named Darwin”
LOL Nope. I have spent 11 of my last 12 Sundays doing tax returns as a volunteer. Poor Darwin became famous because he published his ideas (after 20 years) because others were also about to publish. But donating to the church of Darwin is not tax deductible. However, donating to the NCSE is.
Expelled Exposed is now in operation, so my task is done.

Just saw the movie, Let it speak for itself. It’s funny to see how defensive these guys get when they are out of thier controlled environment. Do they really believe this stuff? Crystals, lighting&mud, or aliens???? LOL
“Crystals, lighting&mud, or aliens?”
No. Those are really stupid creationist parodies to try to make scientists look bad. And they would if they were true, but they aren’t.
onein6billion:
So, what’s your theory then?
Hi onein6billion:
I had a boss a few years back that told me.
If you are lucky, you can ride this ball around the sun about 75 times. If you believe in creation and are wrong, what have you lost? If you do not believe there is a superior being, and there is, where are you going?
You need to answer that question for yourself. Don’t blame Ben Stein or anyone else.
Pascal’s Wager is a really silly reason to choose a religion. Which one? Why? Maybe at the last second before that 18-wheeler hits you, you can “repent” and “go to heaven”? Are you “saved” by “deeds” or “belief”? Besides, all of the interesting people will be in the other place.
en dot wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal’s_Wager
Your choice. The clock is ticking.
You failed to answer the question: How long before the clock stops ticking do I have to “do something” (and what do I have to do) in order to fill-in-your-favorite-religious-blank-here?
Come on now onein6billion, get real.
If you have it figured out that religion is a lie and there is no God, what difference does it make what I say?
You are either seeking help legitimitely (which I hope for, but doubt), or are trying to entice someone to argue with you, so you can try to “shoot the messenger”. I do not believe you can defend your position otherwise.
Nevertheless, here are my answers to your “hypothetical” questions:
If you are truly seeking the Lord, I suggest you contact the AC 180 Network for help, if you do not have a place to begin to answer your questions.
My Lord, in the Bible, says “He that believeth and is Baptized shall be saved”. My bible also says 2 prisoners were saved while on the Cross with Jesus. I believe both of those statements are true.
As far as I am aware, no one knows when he or she will take his/her last breath. As you get older, I believe you will wonder more and more why you were here, and “is this all there is, and why is it already about gone?”.
Thus, if you have not heard of him, I suggest you find Saul in the Bible who changed his name to Paul.
I also suggest that you seek out a local Church and admit that you may not know it all. The Clergy and people will help you. In any event, none of us can save you.
We are all human and imperfect. No one has all of the answers. It is ok. You will be fine and the Lord will love you anyway.
As you begin your study and learn of the peace that comes with God’s Grace, I ask that you begin to realize what Ben Stein has done for the children of this world.
If you do not want to truly succumb to God’s power, but rather keep telling yourself that you have it figured out and there is no God, then so be it, as it is not my intention to argue with you.
But I believe you will then have missed the entire meaning of life.
Ben Stein has given you a chance to learn something that you have evidently spent much time and effort trying to destroy. For your sake, I hope you decide to make a change in your life. We all hope the best for you.
This is my last comment here.
(But neither of us will have the last word)
“Ben Stein has given you a chance to learn something”
There is absolutely nothing in this stupid movie that is even true.
Again. Your Choice. The clock is ticking.
“The clock is ticking.”
When the clock stops ticking, the universe has run down in another 100 billion years.
onein6billion,
You are funny. Have you really studied Darwin’s theory? Creation Science has been here for around 6,000 years (you know, the Bible). Darwin “studied” his theory for 20 years? Evolution IS a religion that SOME scientists have bought into. There are scientists who have an open mind and look at the “facts”.
I saw the mollusk video on your website. If that is your counter to the intelligent design theory about the eye, that is weak! Even your girl in the video says “probably”. She does not know! She is guessing! The bible spells out creation pretty plainly. It blows your mind that the earth is only 6,000 years old doesn’t it?
Have fun defending Darwinism. The ship is sinking, don’t go down with it!
onein6billion,
Here is a good website to check out if you want to know more about creationism:
http://www.drdino.com
“It blows your mind that the earth is only 6,000 years old doesn’t it?”
No, no, no. What blows my mind is that supposedly thinking people actually claim to believe this nonsense. But I guess religious indoctrination starting at the age of 5 or 6 could account for such imbecility.
“The ship is sinking”
Riiiight. Go read the 1973 article in the American Spectator predicting the immanent decline of “Darwinism”.
“know more about creationism”
Why on earth would I want to fry my brain reading such nonsense? I’ve read enough such nonsense in the last 20 years.
Just to make you feel a little better, onein6billion, I am a Christian and I don’t believe the earth is only 6,000 years old.
I believe God and science go hand in hand.
Hey onein6billion,
The universal clock may run for another 100 billion years. However, your clock may quit at any time, and according to your theory, you are then done. If you are ok with that, then ok.
I agree with Mud Puppy, I believe if someone finally figures out how everything got here, all they will find out is how God did it.
Also, another of my opinion’s is that science and academia have done some great things, but most can only sustain themselves if they can find a reason that the government (taxpayers) must pay for. (The biggest rip-off there is).
Thus, many members of the scientific community and academia cannot buy the fact that there may be an immortal around. It will cost them their money source. Most need to get real jobs.
“It will cost them their money source.”
Riiiiight. We wouldn’t need any more medical research – just pray until someone dies.
I propose: All the smallest particles, quarks etc., have always existed as have the laws that govern their behavior. 831 761-8530
I don’t remember saying anything about Medical Research, or lack thereof??? Are you jumping to conclusions again?
In any event, more and more Drs. are saying “Prayer” helps. In the end, we all will die.
The question is not where we came from, but where are we going? Is there a life hereafter?
I believe there is and pray you will come to believe that also. Sure makes life easier and happier when you succumb to God’s power and grace.
If you are on the wrong train, we hope you’ll make a change in your life. Thanks Ben Stein for putting it back in front of the world!
Roy-
You said- “more and more Drs. are saying “Prayer” helps”
Please document this assertion.
.
on the other hand-
A study from the Mayo Clinic has found no differece in death rates number of heart attacks or strokes in patients who were the recipients of prayers versus people who did not receive prayers. Other researchers are skeptical that prayer’s value can be measured.
source- Aviles J.M., et al. Intercessory prayer and cardiovascular disease progression in a coronary care unit population: a randomized controlled trial. Mayo Clinic Proceedings 2001; 76(12): 1192-98.
Hi Ben,
My assertion comes from personal experience, primarily from comments made by my Father’s Oncologist (from the largest hospital in our area) during consultations over 5 years while my Dad was battling lung cancer (died in 2006).
My daughter, who at the time, was in a Pre-Physical Therapist Program in one of our largest and most prestigious (to some people) State College said some of her professors are saying the same thing. I also believe I remember seeing the same from more than 1 TV account (not religious) over the past couple of years.
So, there is my “documentation”, for what it is worth.
I thought everyone knows that prayer helps and apologize for not realizing someone actually may not believe it. However, evidently your study concerned coronary patients (who may have died immediately) versus cancer patients, which inflicts huge psychological problems on the patient, as well.
So who knows if your study is “across the board”, but I do not want to argue with you about it. Life is too short.
After initial surgery that removed 1 lobe in his lung, my father decided that he did not want to take any radiation or chemo, and fought the disease primarily with diet changes, natural treatments, vitamins, etc., (and faith). He watched my Mother die of the same disease and the suffering she went through with chemo and radiation while lasting only 18 months.
He refused any radiation or chemo until near the end, and then only took it because he wanted to get remarried at the age of 83 1/2, and hoped he could live another year or two.
He remained very active, working on a ranch, until 1 month before he died. He lasted about 3 weeks after taking his initial dose of radiation and tarceba (sp?). The Dr. thought it might give him some time, but the nurses warned me that the shock to his system may be too much. He got married in February, went with me on a trip in March, and died in April.
Incidentally, when my Father was re-diagnosed (18 months after surgery) in 2001, we took him to the Mayo Clinic (which I have great respect for) in AZ, and the Oncologist that examined him said something to the effect: “People with your diagnosis will probably live about 3 to 6 months. You are in better health than most, so you should make it at least that long”.
I do not tribute his longevity with the disease to prayer, but more to diet changes and God’s plan for him. The prayers that he made, and were made for him by hundreds of people, certainly did not hurt. His Dr. said that after seeing so many suffering patients, he actually looked forward to my Dad’s visits as it was refreshing to see someone that looked absolutely normal for so long. The Dr. (which I see no need in naming) said that more and more Drs. believe prayer to be beneficial (but obviously only to those that believe).
On a different subject, have any of you been to Rome, the Vatican, and primarily the Catacombs in Rome? Or to the Holy Lands? The Catacombs are where the Christians were buried in secrecy roughly between Jesus’s death and when Constantinople declared Rome to be a Christian Nation in about 300 AD.
The Catacomb that I was in is 11 miles long (hand dug underground). We could only walk through 1 mile of it.
On both sides of each passageway (which are about 3 ft wide by 6 ft tall – the people were much smaller then) , are about 3 or 4 layers of graves (tombs) of Christians buried continuously next to each other in secrecy from the Roman Army. no lights, no electricity, no power tools in those days.
While deterioration is taking place, almost every tomb is marked with the Christian “fish” symbol that you see on millions of bumper stickers (I do not know how to show the symbol here).
As most people know, anyone caught holding a religious ceremony was killed, so the people had to be very careful taking a dead person to the catacombs. Very, very moving experience. More moving than anything else I have ever seen, including a year in Vietnam.
If they were believers at the time of Jesus, who am I to question their faith 2000 years later? By the way, I am not a member of the Roman Catholic faith, but after going to Rome, I cannot say they are “wrong”.
I believe it behooves all of you to do a self-search and re-think your opinions, that’s all. And I hope to some small extent, this discussion may have helped you to re-look at yourself, even if it is years from now. I believe all of us doubt at one point or another.
I am very glad to see that Ben Stein has the “where-with-all” to do something about it and did it. Even though many always want to prove it wrong.
I hope you all reconsider where your education is ,or has, taken you. It is easy to doubt and say no. It is very hard to believe that we are not in control. Remember, all of our clocks are ticking, you know.
Good luck to you and thanks for the opportunity to discuss these issues with you.
Hi all,
I just want to make a couple of comments on my previous post.
1) I believe it was Emperor Constantine that declared Rome to be a Christian Nation (the city of Constantinople was named after him). Someone can check that out.
2) After making the post, I did a couple of Internet searches, and they say the “secrecy part” from the Roman Army is a myth.
My memory says they told us the way I posted it, but who knows, it has been over 20 years since I was there.
Nevertheless, the Catacombs are there and it was absolutely shocking to me what I found. I also believe that I was in the St. Domitilla Catacomb, but would have to research pictures from long ago.
Unfortunately they confiscated all of our cameras, before going into the catacomb and only gave them back when we returned to the surface. The only pictures that I have are at ground level, and I could only find 1 or 2 pictures on the internet of the catacombs themselves.
3) My only other suggestion (which I didn’t do) is to research your destination before you go. I went through the Sisteen Chapel, but wished I had gone through St. Peters Basilica.
If I have made other factual “errors”, please feel free to let me know and post it here.
“Thanks Ben Stein for putting it back in front of the world!”
Well, he tried and failed. Now he will be remembered as the idiot who said “science leads you to killing people”.
“I thought everyone knows that prayer helps”
There you go again – using your erroneous religious common sense.
You know, I had another boss that once told me:
“Roy, there are some people that you just can’t help”.
Your clock is ticking and the rest of the world would appreciate it, if you would quit trying to “shoot the messenger”, if they disagree with you.
Again, good luck to you and I hope the best for you.
[...] from a complete stranger, but I am not what you would call a “blogger”. You made a comment on AC180.com that you do not believe that the earth is 6,000 years old. This was a blessing to me, let me [...]
Archaic,
I am the one who posted about the 6000 year theory. I am sorry that you had to leave a church over this, but let me tell you why I believe it to be true. I believe that the bible is the infallible word of God. I, like you, do not pretend to know everything. But, as a Christian, I uphold God’s truths through his written word. The Bible is the oldest text available to mankind with any legitimacy at all. There are other theories of creationism, I presented the one that I believe.
The whole point of Ben Stein’s movie was to show how Evolution has dominated society and it is not a factual science. To say that I came from plankton, which formed into a Monkey, then into a Man is hard to follow. And this is explained over millions of years. If you want to have some fun, grab textbooks from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and see the different “theories” of evolution. The only thing that has evolved is the story of evolution.
I have also battled that question about being prepared for the “hard” questions. If you are a Christian and you believe in Christ, you do not have to defend anything. No one can change the fact that you are a child of God. No more than you can change the mind of a hard core Atheist. The Lord will reveal himself to those folks. Let us pray that they will hear his call!
God is both a philosophical and scientific necessity. The universe and everything in it is “dependent” in nature and essence. Dependent on something outside itself to explain its existence. If you know of anything in the universe that is not dependent or an exception to this let me know, you may well get the Nobel Prize. There are only to viable options. Either and infinite regress of Dependence forever, and thus no basis ever for existence. Or a non-dependent self-existing First Cause (God). There is no other philosophical or scientific option to explain why the cosmos exists. Moreover, the concept of Intelligent Design, the evidence of intelligence in the universe is not only evident in the fine tuning of the universe, but is the foundation stone of science itself, which operates on the underlying premise that there is intelligent order in the universe that can be discovered and harnessed, such as the laws of motion, and the mathematical framework underlying the cosmos. That why I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist or evolutionist.
“I believe that the bible is the infallible word of God.”
Silly, silly religion.
“hard to follow”
Yes, ignorance is so much easier.
“The Lord will reveal himself to those folks.”
I’m ready and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Do I have to die to have my wait ended? Silly, silly, silly religion.
“There is no other philosophical or scientific option to explain why the cosmos exists.”
Silly, silly, silly philosophy to try to explain “why” this universe exists. Of course scientists are smart enough to not even try.
“self-existing First Cause”
Silly religion using a silly philosophical argument.
“evident in the fine tuning of the universe”
Riiiiiight. If this universe were not properly “fine-tuned”, we would not be here to observe that it is “fine-tuned”. Tautology cannot be used as “evidence”.
“the underlying premise that there is intelligent order in the universe”
Methinks this is a misuse of the word “intelligent” for your silly argument. Order, yes. Intelligent, inappropriate adjective.
“That why I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist or evolutionist.”
You’re an idiot – philosophically and scientifically.
As shown/discussed on several websites, it appears onein6billion (assuming it is the same person) has made “blogging” against this movie a personal crusade.
I want to point out that at least one website recommends a search on “onein6billion”, which I have done.
Like I said before, there are some people that you just can’t help.
Again, onein6billion, we hope the best for you.
John, I agree with your assessment and thank you for your great comments.
This story has been around before, but I received it again today and believe it has application here.
God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, ‘Lord, we don’t need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the ‘beginning’.’
‘Oh, is that so? Tell me…’ replies God.
‘Well’, says the scientist, ‘we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of you and breathe life into it, thus creating man.’
‘Well, that’s interesting. Show Me. ‘
So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.
‘Oh no, no, no…’ interrupts God,
‘Get your own dirt.’
——————————————————————–
“Again, onein6billion, we hope the best for you.”
Why? What does that mean? I have no need for your “hope”.
“This story has been around before…”
Seems really stupid to me of course.
Now the creationists in the Louisiana legislature and the creationist governor has passed a “you can teach the controversy” law. How long before there is another Dover decision in Louisiana?
Very nice!!
One in 6 Billion:
No Problem.
You will want/need someone’s help before it is over.
Look for Jesus. He will be there for you.
Onein6billion:
Hey! I read about you in the Bible (Romans 1:25) the other day:
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
I hope that some day the “scales” fall from your eyes. (Acts 9) I hope to see you in heaven some day my friend because you are worth it.
Your future brother,
Lamilin
“because you are worth it”
No, I’m not. I’m a useless non-believer. I’m an American who’s using too much energy and contributing to global warming. I waste water on my lawn every summer. I waste natural gas heating my home in winter. I waste time and energy typing silly stuff into a silly blog.
