After hours of debate it is with great excitement that those of us at AC180.com deliver our very first NBA Preview. The 2007-2008 season looks to be another season filled with referee betting allegations, former player comebacks and overpaid players demanding trades. No wonder why this years motto is “Where Amazing Happens“.
Starting in the East -
The Cleveland Cavaliers complete the largest collapse in NBA history by coming in dead last in the East. After twenty or thirty more attempts to trade for Mike Bibby, General Manager Danny Ferry finally decides to sign all 5 of the “Lebrons” to jump start a stagnant team. The move backfires and the Cavs never quite recover.
In Boston, General Manager Danny Ainge once again completes an unbelievable trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves. This time, Ainge sends himself to the T-Wolves for former Celtic and Timberwolves General Manager Kevin McHale. Once the dust clears, Ainge then reverses the multi-player trade from this summer and both teams end up just ahead of the Cavaliers in the lottery.
In Detroit, the Pistons once again steamroll their way through the regular season and lock up the number one seed. However the loss of Rasheed Wallace due to several hundred technicals prompts Joe Dumars to sign former “bad boy” Dennis Rodman. Dumars then trades Rodman to the Detroit Shock of the WNBA for future considerations.
Finally, in Charlotte, just prior to coming out of retirement (again), General Manager Michael Jordan convinces former North Carolina Tar Heel coach Dean Smith to return to the bench and coach the Bobcats. Jordan then either trades or waives all of those players that have never played for UNC and signs James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Brad Daugherty, JR Reid, Jeff McGinnis, Kenny “the jet” Smith and Eric Montross.
Out West…
The Lakers and the NBA reach an agreement on what to do with Kobe Bryant. Due to his increasing unhappiness with any other players, the NBA agrees to finally grant Oklahoma City a franchise and the Owner, General Manager and entire team will consist of one man… Kobe Bryant. In return, the Lakers receive the number 24 pick in all drafts moving forward and Bill Walton.
The New OKC “Kobes” struggle as he continues to argue with himself during games. Several games end in a last second loss as Kobe can’t agree with himself on who should take the last shot.
The Phoenix Suns break all single season scoring records as Steve Nash shows off his new jumping ability from a summer long conditioning with “strength shoes“. However, Nash, is lost after the all star break after competing in the slam dunk contest while wearing said strength shoes. His ankle shatters and he never recovers.
The San Antonio Spurs continue to steam roll everyone in their path. Greg Popovich demands that the team trade Eva Longoria for Rozanne Barr to keep the team focused. The move works well and the Spurs continue to win.
Finals prediction - The UNC Charlotte Bobcats defeat the OKC Kobe’s in 6.

I am officially declaring Wednesday’s “AC 180 Open Mike Wednesday”.
I wonder how much money Jordan has made from his shoe line? Probably in the billions!
Retro – I’m guilty! I contribute with the 1st, 2nd and 4th year models. I got smart after that and haven’t bought any since. They were $69 the first year, but I knew a guy that gave them to me for $50.
