Greg “Mad Dog” Maddox has added another notch to his already highly impressive belt. He is the first pitcher to have 20 consecutive 10 win seasons. He is definitely the best pitcher in the modern era of baseball, to date. Better than, just to name a few slackers in the field of pitching: Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens, etc.
For those of you who haven’t seen him since the beginning, here’s a few pics:
Just from a selfish perspective, it would be nice to see him win 10 for the Yankees, and go to Cooperstown.

As a Georgia boy, I miss having him on the mound for the Bravos.
God bless,
Fred
i love Mad Dog. I’m a huge Braves fan and it hurt to see him and glavine leave. At least we still have Smoltz.
Maddox has been a spectacular pitcher, one for the ages. And he has also seemed to keep his head on straight throughout his whole career. Uncommon.
I saw him in an interview admit that he could see various forms cheating being very tempting if it meant a few extra wins late in his career… he was talking about the old spitballers and stuff, so i’m sure he meant stuff like vaseline on the cap, sandpaper fingers, etc… not like roids or anything…
I will say that Glavine and Smoltz are both more effective pitchers in their later years (well, the last three years at the MOST) but Maddox is the man of our generation for sure.
Watched Greg pitch in high school and ever since. I CALLED IT IN HIGH SCHOOL AND I AM STICKING TO MY FORCAST, NEXT 400 GAME WINNER!!!
