If the rumors are true, my new vehicle is supposed to include a 6 CD changer. Last night I was trying to think of the 6 CD’s I would lock in to that thing. I know that I can change those out. I also know that I can burn 6 CD’s with all of my favorite tunes. But here’s the question. If you could only put 6 CD’s in your car, or were on an island with 6 CD’s only, what 6 would it be?
Thinking it over, I think this would be my current 6 that I will put in and lock in place (in no particular order) :
2. Public Enemy – It Takes a Nation of Millions
3. Mercyme – Coming Up to Breathe
4. Chris Tomlin – See the Morning
5. Jeremy Camp – Unplugged

I put a restriction on myself of no greatest hits albums allowed. With that said, here are my six:
1. Mute Math – Mute Math
2. Switchfoot – A Beautiful Letdown
3. Pulp Fiction Soundtrack
4. Billy Ray Cyrus – Some Gave All
5. Passion – Everything Glorious
6. U2 – Joshua Tree
Aaron, I thought you said 6. Is the 6th one a mystery? I give up.
My bad. I fixed it. U2 – Joshua Tree is a great call.
What’s a CD?
Great post! For me (in no particular order):
1. Blindside – A Thought Just Crushed My Mind
2. Miles Davis – Kind of Blue
3. Rebecca St. James – Pray
4. Jimi Hendrix – Are You Experienced?
5. Verve – A Storm In Heaven
6. Public Enemy – Fear of a Black Planet
Robert – Some classics in there. Notably the “Fear of a Black Plant”! Excellent choice. I used to have a PE t-shirt in college that said that on the back. It wasn’t a very big hit at a Nazarene University, but hey, to quote the great Chuck D –
“I’m a rebel so I rebel”…
Or so I thought. Anyway, thanks for logging in!
Hey – I finally ditched the changer and got the in-dash unit that controls my iPod! Yeah!
So, I don’t have a “6″, but can tell you the most recent playlists:
* Full Attention (Jeremy Riddle)
* My Saviour Lives (New Life Worship)
* The Dave Ramsey Show (Podcast – every day, baby)
* Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs (no kidding, amazing!)
* Northpoint Community Church (working on scoring the cello part to “Come and Listen”
* West Coast Revival (auditioning songs for upcoming podcast)
For the Kingdom
Fred McKinnon
Aaron,
Great question. I thought about your number one… and what is up with all the Public Enemy ???… in no particular order…
1. Damien Rice – O
2. Shawn McDonald – Live from Seattle
3. Jack Johnson – Sing-a-Longs and lullabies from the movie Curious George
4. Keane – Somewhere Only We Go
5. The Soundtrack to Moulin Rouge
6. David Crowder Band – Sunset & Sushi
Rock On!!!
Man! If you don’t have any “PE in da House”, I have got to hook you up. “It Takes a Nation of Millions” is one of the greatest and earliest rap CD’s ever. Before it went gansta and all of that junk. Chuck D is awesome. That and “License to Ill” by the Beastie Boys were required listening in every dorm in America in the late 80’s early 90’s.
Go out to iTunes and download “Bring the Noise” to get a taste of a little PE. It was also redone with PE and Anthrax which TOTALLY rocked.
I’ll slide you a copy on the 4th.
Yeahhhhh Booooyyyyy!
As a matter of fact, Rockin’ Friday WILL be “Bring the Noise” by Anthrax and Public Enemy this week (spoiler alert). It’s time to bring a little “Flava”
Watch out, Aaron is on the PE soapbox!! I will just put in my request now for a little Beastie Boys some Friday!!
Rap on, my man!!!
