Jeremy, my best friend in St. Louis, is moving back to California to be the director of Youth Ministries at the Skyline Church in San Diego. Professional movers are coming to pick up his stuff but he’s got two cars that he has to drive to San Diego himself. Because his wife is pregnant and she can’t take a road trip that long, he has asked me to drive out with him.Without giving it a second thought I said, YES! This is going to be the ultimate road trip. We’ll drive 1853 miles across 6 states. If we drove straight through it would take 26 hours. Noteable stops along the way include Springfield, MO (home of the largest Bass Pro Shop), Albuquerque, NM (Home of the Jurassic Super Giants), Flagstaff, AZ (a historic stop on Route 66), and the biggest one of all… The Grand Canyon!!!
Once we arrive in San Diego, I’ll get to dip my toes in the Pacific Ocean.
I am so excited that I can hardly contain myself. Two friends, miles of road, unforeseen adventure. This will surely be a highlight of my life.
